The Affordable Homes Project was only a few weeks old, before events elsewhere in the world again highlighted the need for emergency housing that could be provided economically for disaster situations.

At the same time the growing needs in Britain to provide homes for people who do not have access to any was highlighted and the current homeless figure estimated as 380,000, mostly not on the streets but being temporality housed on other peoples sofas or similar.

Quite naturally with the project title, some people felt that both of these was the area that we were set up to help with.

In response to the requests that we look into these areas, and the support of our sponsors, we have decided to extend the research and information we provide to cover the collection and sharing of information in relation to these areas. At a later point, when we have had time to look at what is available and where the needs lie, as well as talking with others as to how these needs might best be met, we may look to extend the project to fully cover these, or to assist another nonprofit organization to be formed to look at one or both of these areas.

If you have a particular interest in one of these areas, or some other that we should add to these, then please let us know or share with us your ideas. Similarly if you know of anyone else looking or providing help in these areas that we have not highlighted please let us know.
